Does this guy mean well for my friend and vice versa? She doesn't believe me but I guess I could be wrong.

My friend has always been friendly and had many platonic friends. She is 36 and nevr datd a married guy. Well she became friends with this and he is unhappy in his marriage and they messd around not all the way. She was devastated and hated it cuz it messd their friendship up. They were arguing by text about their messd up friendship and she told him she was in love with him and nevr meant for anything to happen. He called her right away and they talked and have decided to try and get their platonic friendship back and he told her but no talkn emotional like that. Is he going to be friends with her again cuz he feels bad and guilty or just likes her friendshp or what?
