Without greek mythology there's not modern/western astrology?

I recommend you do some reading on Carl Jung. A student of Sigmund Freud, he branched off and founded his own view of the human psyche. His work on archetypes is of particular interest when one is considering either psychology or astrology, and I think it will expand your understanding.
