I'm having great difficulties dissolving a plant extract?

i'm having great difficulties dissolving a plant extract named Alchornea laxiflora(methanol extract).i've tried using distilled water and 1% DMSO but no luck,even saline.even if it gives a suspension i would be so happy,but it just refuses to dissolve..what other solvent works for a stubborn and gum-like methanol plant extract.i need to administer this extract orally to wistar albino rats.
